About

community ecology, plant-pollinator interactions, trophic cascades

Hi there! My name’s Michelle and I’m a first-year PhD student in Hillary Young’s lab. I’m interested in the cascading effects of species introduction and loss on ecosystem processes. Currently, I’m planning some work in high-elevation lakes of the Sierra Nevada Mountains looking at the effects of trout introduction on pollination services.

In my spare time, I love baking (that raw loaf was a one time thing, I swear!!!), photographing plants (really gettin' in there for the close-up), and ceramics ("our pieces will look a little different because we're all a little different." -my ceramics teacher/role model).
